Cost and pricing intent

UGC Ad Editing Cost
priced for testing, not for polish

Paid social creative is a volume game. The winning account is not the one with the best single ad, it is the one that tested forty hooks and found three. Priced as individual polished videos, that testing is unaffordable. Priced as core edits plus cheap variants, it is the most efficient creative spend in the account.

Our 5-step process

  1. 01

Brief and audit — we review your goals, past performance and raw material before touching a timeline.

  2. 02

Hook extraction — every asset is scanned for the highest-retention 1-3 second opener.

  3. 03

Native edit — pacing, captions, safe zones and sound are tuned to the destination platform.

  4. 04

Revision rounds — two included rounds with timestamped comments, no ticket queue.

  5. 05

Delivery pack — masters, verticals, captions, thumbnails and a posting brief in one drop.

Case example

A supplements brand was producing four polished ads a month at $420 each. We restructured to six core concepts with three hook variants each — eighteen assets for roughly $2,400. Cost per asset dropped from $420 to $133 and their winning-ad hit rate rose from one in four to one in six per asset, but with four times the assets tested.

Pricing anchor

Our monthly retainers start at $2,495/mo for 15 shorts and scale to $3,995/mo for 30 shorts plus long-form support. Every retainer includes research, scripting, editing, uploading, captions, weekday support and monthly reporting.

Variants are where the economics work

A hook variant reuses the entire body of the edit and changes only the opening one to two seconds and its caption. That is 25 to 45 percent of the original cost for a genuinely independent test. Three variants per concept is the ratio most performance teams settle on.

Brief variants at the same time as the core edit. Commissioning them later means the editor reopens the project, re-syncs assets and re-exports, which pushes the variant price toward full rate.

Budget against fatigue, not against launches

Paid creative decays. Most accounts see meaningful fatigue in three to five weeks at moderate spend. Your editing budget should be a rolling monthly commitment sized to replace the fatigued assets, not a project-based spend tied to campaign launches.

A simple rule: aim for enough new concepts each month that no single asset carries more than 25 percent of spend by week four.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to edit a UGC ad?

A core UGC concept edit costs $150 to $400 depending on cutaway volume, text animation and how much creator footage has to be reviewed. Variants of that edit — new hooks, ratios or captions — cost $25 to $70 each, which is where testing budgets should concentrate.

How many ad variants should I test?

Three hook variants per concept, and six or more concepts a month for accounts spending meaningfully. The goal is enough independent tests to find a winner before your current top performer fatigues, which usually happens within three to five weeks.

Do you edit footage from UGC creators?

Yes, that is the majority of this work. We handle mixed quality across creators, normalise colour and audio, and build a consistent brand caption system so a dozen creators' clips still look like one campaign.

What makes a UGC ad edit different from organic content?

Pace and structure. Paid creative front-loads the problem statement in the first 1.5 seconds, cuts roughly 3.2 times per ten seconds, keeps a single clear claim, and ends with an explicit action. Organic content can afford a slower build; paid cannot.

Should captions be burned in on paid ads?

Yes. Burned-in captions render identically across placements and are not subject to platform caption toggling. Keep them inside the safe zone and avoid the bottom 250 pixels where UI chrome and CTA buttons sit.

How fast can new ad variants be turned around?

Forty-eight hours standard, 24 hours on priority. Because variants reuse an existing project, they are the fastest thing we produce, which makes them ideal for reacting to mid-flight performance data.
